Sue Mayo has a wealth of knowledge and experience to share with those in small business and the learn to swim industry. With 30 years of teaching, owning and operating successful businesses , her skill range from managing and recruiting staff, small business advice and learn to swim curriculum; including infant aquatics, disabilities and adults. As a teacher trainer her skill in creating a simple method of approaching a difficult task and imparting that knowledge is that of a true master teacher.
Published writer in Australia, United States and New Zealand on topical matters regarding all facets of small business and education in the learn to swim industry, including child development and water safety. She also wrote regular articles in NZSCAT Teaching Tank and Waterways Magazine 1998 to 2004. She has had feature articles in Aqua Life AUSTSWIM and Australia and New Zealand Recreation magazine.
She wrote a series of teaching tips for swim teachers, which were accessible through the New Zealand Swim For Life® Web page. This resource was used by parents around the world seeking further personal advise regarding their children with learning difficulties.
International Presenter around New Zealand, Australia and United States, Sue has spoken at national swimming, national recreation and world infant aquatic conferences.
Awards in 2008 Sue was awarded the Master Teacher Award by Swim Coaches and Teachers Association, the highest award presented to a Swim Teacher.
Sue Mayo Swim School won the Swim Australia Best International Award 2005.
Sue was the successful instigator for a teacher representative on the Board of NZSCAT in 1997. In 1998 she was elected to the Board where she served for 10 years. As an advocate for Water Safety, Sue was then elected to the Board of WSNZ for a 2 year term.
